How Goodtime.today Works
1. Location-based timings
Panchang timings change by place. Sunrise, sunset, tithi ending time, nakshatra ending time, durmuhurtham, and varjyam differ from one location to another.
2. Daily Panchang details
The site shows details such as Tithi, Nakshatra, Sunrise, Sunset, Durmuhurtham, Vargyam, Amrutha, Rahu Kalam, Yama Gandam, Gulika Kalam, Yoga, Karana, Festivals, and important days.
3. English pages and Panchang tradition
On English Good Time Today / Tomorrow pages, the on-screen language stays English, but the Panchang field set and good/okay/bad calculation follow a regional tradition.
Default (no saved preference): New Delhi and most northern locations use Hindi Panchang (including Choghadiya). Other Indian states map to Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, Assamese, or Nepali traditions — the same state map used for festival relevance.
You can override the tradition with the Panchang tradition menu on those pages. The choice is stored in a browser cookie for English good-time pages (not yet part of the saved profile).
4. How Good / Okay / Bad is calculated
Guidance combines several Panchang factors for the selected location and tradition — not a single clock alone.
Durmuhurtham and Varjyam are treated as adverse whenever they apply.
Rahu Kalam, Yama Gandam, and Gulika Kalam may also darken the timeline when they are active for that tradition or profile.
Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati traditions may merge Choghadiya slot quality (Amrit/Shubh/Labh good; Char okay; Rog/Kaal/Udveg adverse).
Tamil tradition may merge Gowri Panchangam the same way.
When no stronger adverse factor explains a window, the summary names the Nakshatra and Tithi in force.
5. General good times
Calendar pages may show general good times for the selected location based on Panchang factors.
6. Personalized good times
When a user provides birth star or date of birth, Goodtime.today can show personalized Good / Okay / Bad timings.
7. Simple color guidance
Green means generally good.
Yellow means okay.
Red means better to avoid starting important new work if possible.
Goodtime.today is designed to make Panchang timing practical, not complicated.
